People have shared their outrage on social media as many find themselves overcharged for their rent due to a major mistake. Clarion Housing Association customers have expressed frustration over the error which saw their bank accounts drop unexpectedly. Several people’s rent payments were overcharged yesterday, with one person sharing that they had £1,000 withdrawn from their bank account, while another was ‘overdrawn’.

According to the housing group, around one in 20 households were affected by the error.
This means that thousands of people, representing 6,250 households, have faced this debit card error.
On its website, the housing association said: “We are aware that on Tuesday, May 3, an error in our system resulted in some Clarion residents being overcharged for their rent.

“They will then process your refund.
